A Group Reformer class for men, working on full-body strength, mobility and control.
Men's Reformer runs as a Group Reformer class with the room set aside for men. The format matches the other group classes: one plan, up to eight Reformers, and your instructor teaching from the front.
The class works on full-body strength, mobility and control. Men trying a Reformer for the first time are part of who the class is for, so the equipment and the movements are explained rather than assumed.
How a class runs
Getting on the Reformer
The carriage, the straps and the springs are explained before the class starts if you have not used a Reformer.
The class plan
The room works through one plan together, with each movement named and shown along with the spring setting it uses.
Strength and control
The work covers full-body strength, mobility and control. Moving with control at a slow tempo is harder than swinging your body through a movement, and most of the class is built on that difference.
Corrections
Your instructor comes to you if something needs changing rather than calling it out to the room.
Modifications
Springs, lever length and range are used to make a movement easier or harder, so the class works for different levels of strength and experience.
Choose Men's Reformer when
- You want a Reformer class with the room set aside for men.
- You want to build full-body strength and move with more control.
- You have not used a Reformer before and want a class that explains it.
- You already train and want work that challenges stability and control.
If you would rather not train in a men's class, Foundation covers the same fundamentals on the Reformer and is open to everyone.
